Stricture update

Today was my endoscopy and yes, it was a stricture, which had closed to the size of a pinhole! No wonder I was having so much trouble! The doc was able to stretch it a little bit, but not as much as necessary. For some reason, the sedation didn't work on me even though they gave me 3 rounds, so he couldn't be too aggressive. Now I have to schedule another session, this time with full anesthesia, hopefully on Friday. The good news is, from this little stretch I was able to eat some soup and pudding tonight. It was heavenly! Thanks for all your kind wishes and I'll keep you posted.

Oh Lisa! Sorry you have to go through this a second time, but at least you know relief is on the way. I'm allergic to Versed (the light stuff they usually use to sedate people for these procedures) so they usually put me out fairly well. I prefer not knowing what is going on. Linda

Thanks, Linda! That Versed didn't work at all for me! My next endoscopy/dilation is tomorrow morning (Friday). I'm praying that it works this time!
