As much as I wish the journey would move along more quickly, I do think it is all finally coming together. OHSU submitted for authorization for the Lab Band today and I finally got word from PSU that I've been accepted into their MPA program. Yippee! I'm really excited about school and hopeful about surgery. I'm extra hopeful that I will hear soon about surgery though!

Before you know it you'll be on the loosing Side Im very excited for you. You'll soon have a new friend that will be with you for life to help you down the trail of freedom from the bondage of weight. I love my band although I admit there are times we fight but he always wins, which is why he makes such a good friend. Good luck Gail size 20-22 now a happy size 8

Congratulations Tamara! My request for RNY was submitted to BCBS on Wednesday, so I'm hoping I'll hear soon too. Congrats on school too -- what is an MPA? Linda

Thanks everyone! I'm pretty excited! MPA is Master of Public Administration. It's basically the equivalent of a MBA (Master of Business Administration) but for the public sector. The curriculum is similar but with a focus on the complicating factors that come with that type of management. For instance, instead of just taking human resource management classes, the MPA focuses on human resources and collective bargaining in the public sector.
