Hi All, I am 11 months RNY post op, however in February, I had my gallbaldder taken out and am still losing weight, more than I wanted to. At 9 months I had lost my goal of 100 pounds and am now down another 13 pounds since the gallbladder removal. Anyone else had the gallbladder removed post RNY and had the post gallbladder syndrome (dumping too much bile, hard time holding onto any food you take in). If you have, how long did the syndrome last for you and when did you begin to stop or even out with weight loss. YES - i am eating plenty of food and protein, it just has a tendencey to go right through me within 30 minuntes of consumption causing additonal weight loss. Never thought I'd say this in my lifetime, but I'd like to put back on some weight, weird to say or write that out loud!

Where did you have your surgery done? At OHSU, they require us to take acti-gall after surgery so we don't have gall bladder problems. I hope you start to feel better soon! Linda

I am having my surgery at OHSU - do they automatically put you on actigall after surgery, or is this something that you discussed with your doctor prior, LInda? Just curious - I've had gall stone "symptoms" in the past...but I didn't mention it to Dr. Deveney. Should I contact them and ask them??? Gayla
