Do you have Dr Gorrin or Dr Umbach and have Lapband?
Hey Nancy,
As you know from our phone call last night, my first fill yesterday was VERY PAINFULL!!!
It was not as bad as a bone marrow test I had done years ago, but it came close!
He "searched" to find the port with several pokes of the needle.
I will do whatever I have to do to get some restriction, but should it be so painful? Are we test subjects?
He stated it wouldn't be as painful the 2nd time around, but I'm not so convinced.

Jackie, I am sorry accessing your port was that painful. As a home health nurse, in past years, I have accessed many ports and don't recall any of my patients hurting really bad. Of course they were in the upper chest, not the abdomen so maybe that makes a difference in finding and holding it down! Hopefully next time will be better. Do you feel it is tighter and allowing you to eat less or slower??? How is the weight loss coming along? Julia
Hey Julia,
It was several pokes, looking for the port, thinking he had it.....but didn't. He said he knew he was in the port, when he injected some of the solution & it came back into the needle....otherwise, it would just flow into the body.
It has been 3 days & I don't feel any different yet. I've only lost 4 oz in the past 4 weeks! I need a fill!!!

Hello all you Lapbandits
I had my lap band surgery over a year ago with Dr. Neal in Olympia, WA ...............I've had 5 fills to date with very little pain......one stick (sort of like when they stick the needle in to draw blood - actually not that bad even)...............all of my fills have been done with Floro (x-ray).....the port is located first - even I can see it on the screen - they then insert the needle.............one stick only.
