Living the band lifestyle
I have a question that I hope you can help me with.
My dietician said that I need to start eating like I have already had the surgery. I have to lose about 25 lbs. I am doing really well at drinking my water at the right time etc., but I am confused about when I need to eat. What if I am not hungry at all, am I supposed to eat something anyway? Are there others like me trying to figure this out?

With the band you're expected to eat three solid meals a day. Some people need one or two snacks throughout the day, too. Concentrate on eating your proteins first, then veggies and fruits and, lastly, complex carbs. In some regards, eating out following the bandster rules is almost impossible if you go somewhere where you get a salad first then your meal. I just ask that my salad comes with my meal and that they not bring bread to the table. That's also why, if I'm eating with others who haven't been banded or don't know I've had surgery I'll just ignore the rules since I follow them most of the time.
If you're not hungry at all (and you don't have diabetes), then don't eat. My diabetes drives what I eat and how I eat.
Does this help at all? To be fair, I was supposed to lose 40+ pounds before surgery and I lost only one pound...
