Hi! I'm just starting my WLS journey and was wondering if anyone has had their surgery with Dr. Read at the Corvallis Good Samarian Hospital? My Insurance (Tricare) has assigned me to him, after my PCM put in the referal for WLS. I did read some reviews on the surgeons review page, but wanted to hear from anyone on the Oregon board how things worked with Dr. Read and the Bariatric Program there at Good Sam. TIA Andi

Hi Andi, Dr Read did my surgery on April 25th 2006, I am very happy with their quality of service at the Samaritan Bariatric Program in Corvallis. I just love Dr Read, he is so down to earth and will answer any and all question you have. Susan & Kim are the best support people, and the staff at the Hospital were awesome also, I felt like a queen there. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me and I'll try to answer them. Good luck Darla

Yep! Dr Read did my surgery 2/2/05. I was lucky enough to get out of the hospital the next day (supposedly I was their "model" patient) and never had any major issues. Susan is a love to work with....although I haven't seen her in over a year. Have you clicked on Dr Read's patient forum page? If not I'll get the link for you. There are quite a few of us who have used him. He has experience going back some 10 years in this field and does the surgeries laproscopically. You are welcome to contact me anytime if you ever want to....I've lost 150 lbs in 2 years and am now ready for my plastics. I go in for an anchor cut TT and breast lift at OHSU next Friday. I was NEVER the least bit frightened of the RNY, but this PS is making me just a bit nervous. Trisha RNY 2/2/05 322/172/140
