self-pay question
I am also self-pay and have scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Tersigni at Bay Bariatric for April 18 and hope to have surgery in May. It is in Coos Bay so that is a 4 hour drive for me but the procedure is $10,000 and includes the first three fills. He also moves quicker than the hospitals in my area.
I am a little concerned about the drive but, from what I hear, this doctor is very experienced and competent and for me, saving $15,000 is worth it. I just need to commit to driving to Coos Bay about once a month (totally doable). Let me know what she decides!

The drive to CB is actually quite nice. I love it! It does get a bit long. Don't forget you may be able to fly, too, if you find it is a better cost for your time (you know, be able to fly down and back in one day which may save you less than driving, hotel stays , etc.).
Be careful along Highway 38 -- there can be quite a few rock slides. Wait, I don't mean to scare you -- just be aware of the possibility (especially during the rainy seasons). I would love to move down there (I have family in the CB area).
Good luck!
