I am so sorry I haven't gotten on and given any updates. This surgery has made me so sick. I am about 14 weeks post op and food still makes me sick. I eat then I want to vomit. Fun. I have lost about 45 lbs since surgery. Everyday does get better I am about 7 days out since the last time I got sick. Doctor says that it could be an olcer. He says it is common where they sewed me up at. I am taking meds for it and granted I do feel better as long as I remember to take them. So this is where I am at today.

Katrina, I'm sorry to hear you are having such a bad time Hopefully the new drugs from the doctor will help out the nausea and that the ulcer heals up. Keep bugging the doctor if the meds don't help... don't feel like you have to live like this ok? Hugs, Michele

Katrina: I know exactly what you are going thru, I am 7 months post-op. 2 months after the surgery, I got really dehydrated and had to go back into the hospital for a week and they put me on a TPN ( intraveneous feeding) not fun. I was unable to keep anything down, throwing up everything, including meds. They did an endoscopy on me and found that I had an ulcerated area around my pouch and put me on carafate. Talk about nasty tasting!! Now, I am doing a bazillion percent better, I just gotta watch what I eat and take my time eating. Feel free to e-mail me anytime. Peggy

This is my fear - I haven't had surgery, and when I read about people vomiting and getting sick I get petrified! I need this surgery so badly, but so fear being sick all of the time. I am in constant pain due to chronic pain, and to add throwing up to my list of things that keep me home all of the time, I just can't bare the thought. Is this common to throw up? What percentage of the people having this surgery do throw up? I do hope the medication helps, and that you get feeling better very very quickly! Gayla http://chronicpain-byladyfrog.com
