Love blooms on OH
Well, I knew that weight loss surgery would change my life. I figured it would make me more comfortable in my body and that I might actually get up out of my chair and go outside more often, maybe meet some new friends. I was certain I would be back to being more active, but believe me, I had no idea how much my life would change, and even BEFORE I had the surgery!
I will be having RNY at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) in Portland, OR - most likely in early May. In early February, I noticed a post from a man in Alaska telling of his experiences at OHSU. I have to admit I thought the post was well written and the picture of the guy was nice, but I had a few questions about procedures at OHSU, so I wrote him a message. He wrote back. Eventually, he sent me his email address and suggested that we communicate that way. On Valentine's Day, we began emailing. Then we spent 3 hours on IM. Then we started phoning each other. Well, three weeks later, I picked him up at the airport in Portland. I do believe it was love at first sight, even though I was pretty sure I was falling in love with him before he even got here. I have to attend a conference on the east coast in early April, when my love will return to Alaska and pack his belonging to come back to me forever. I have never been so happy in my entire life.
Thank you OH, for all the information on my upcoming surgery and for providing a venue for me to meet the man of my dreams.

Linda,
I am sooo happy for you. Isnt it amazing how things happen in our lives in the most unexpected ways. Everything in life happens for a reason and isnt it great when it all works out. I know exactly how you are feeling... I too met my now husband onlline. Most people dont know that ( i guess they will now) but it definately can work when its right!!! I wish you both all of the luck and happiness in the world. hang in there...long distance can be tough but boy is it worth it in the end!!!!
Congratulations!
Tara
Thank you all. I should let Freddie tell you a bit about himself, although he tells me he's going to post that I'm a crazy lady and he has no idea what I'm talking about! What a prankster! But, I think he will have to admit that he loves me. The folks at OHSU were a bit surprised when we showed up together on Monday.
