help: need PCP friendly to WLS!!

Hello, I had WLS 6/7/05 and have lost 140lbs....an entire person! I live in mass.. Here is my question, my sister who struggles with the same weight loss issues I had lives in Oregon,(Salem area) and wants to pursue WLS as well, but at this time she does not have a PCP and needs to find one, but her insurance will require approval from her doctor, so if anyone has suggestions for an MD in her area that is not against WLS? That could at least help her make a step in the right direction. thank you, Heidi S.

My suggestion? She find a location for the surgery and contact them to see who's been referring to them... Works like a charm! Lori

My dr is at the Salem Clinic and he approves of my having the surgery. He's working with OHSU and the insurance company. I have been seeing him for close to 4 years now and that may make a difference, but it's worth a try to call and see if he is accepting new patients. Dr Jeffery Wang 503 390-9790. Good luck to you. Hi, My doctor was VERY supportive of WLS. Her practice is at West Salem Family Practice and her name is Dr. Karen Johnson. She's nice too.
