Pre-admissions

Can anyone tell me what to expect on the 26th when I go in for my pre-admission appointment at the hospital. Do they run any tests or is it about paperwork? thanks, Diane

Hi Diane, I had my pre-admission stuff yesterday at OHSU. First I filled out some forms, then a medical assistant took my blood pressure and temperature. An anesthesia Nurse Practitioner visited with me for about 15-20 minutes to look at my airway and ask questions while she filled out a form. Her questions were about my health history, medications, reactions to anesthesia, etc. Then, 3 vials of blood were drawn to run some more tests. I was given a bottle of antibacterial soap to wash with the night before surgery and also the morning of. I think that was all.

Ditto- I did same on 3/12 and am counting down to surgery date-10 dats away! I am having DS- when is yours and which kind!

Hi Diane, I was told ,that I had to lose 12 lbs, and then have it varified by my P.P. and then they would have the surgeon call me .I don't know who will call .and they didn't ask me who I wanted so I'm in the dark on that one. I would like to have Dr. Patterson. I also have the H.Pylori bacteria, and I'm taking antibiotic for 2 weeks to get rid of it. I'm hoping I will be ready for surgery before the end of April. Hi I had Dr. Deveney for my Lap Rny on March 7th!!!! He was Awesome, no major problems, he said everything went great, and I am healing up quite nicely!!! Good luck to you both!!!! OHSU was awesome, all of the nurses were great! I got a private room so my hubby could stay in there with me!!! If you have any ?????'s you can send me a message. Christina
