Bariatric Vitamins
Eight years ago when I had my surgery in Salt lake City my surgeon recommended Flintstone chewabless. Several years ago the American Academity of Bariatric Surgery recommended that Bypass patients should be on a multi vitamin made for bariatric patients. Building Blocks makes a chewable bariatric vitamin, along with Vista Vitamins, Bariatric Daliy Vit and several other companies. Ar Bay Bariatric all of our patients must be on a multi vitamin made for bariatric patients. Proper vitamin replacement is essential because of the bypass portion of the small intensines and the decrease volume of food intake. I feel so much better since I changed to the bariatric multi vitamins. Please do some research if you have had the DS, or the Roux en Y gastric bypass. You should also be on 1000 to 1800mg of calcium citrate and B12 sublingual ( under your tongue) twice a week. I hope this helps!

Kathy,
Congratulations on your surgery. At Bay Bariatrics all of our patients that are still menstrating are on Iron replacement. The Bariatric Vitamins also have Iron in them. Your surgeon should be watching your labs every 3 months for the first year and then every 6 months. I'm sure they will recommend Iron if you need it. If you are tired and experience fatigue ask your surgeon about it. Possibily your iron is low or your B12. They are very skilled at Good Sam and you're in good hands.
The Best to You,
Robin
