1st trip to Legacy
Hi everyone ,well the appts. went well I left at 4 A.M., and got to Legacy at 7:20,alot of rain, I was lucky ,I didn't have to drive. My sons' fiance took me in her car, and she was so helpful and remembered to ask questions for me.I got a copy of the read outs of all the weights (SHOCK)!!!! and all the other tests. It was so nice to have family to go with me. I took the pyshci, test and it took about 1hr. and 20 minutes. Next appt. will be the 8th, Doing the 1/2 day, sure cuts down on all the travel time.I did get a list of when the post op. support groups meet here in Eugene ,I was going to check to see if the pre-ops could attend also. Maybe this is just for the people from Legacy Good Sam only,I'll let you know. Now for some Jo Ann
Oh, picking a surgeon was easy for me, lol! Dr. Jan's schedule was the most open. How lame is that? Everyone wanted to get in to Dr. Patterson and she had a four month wait at the time. Dr. Hong was somewhere in the middle. I scheduled my appointment first then reviewed Dr. Jan's patients and looked up their profiles and reviewed licensing information and saw no problems so I stuck with him.
I've actually met all three of the principle surgeons there and find that they are all equally as competent. I really love that they focus on not necessarily pressuring one surgery over another. They may suggest (and most of us ask) but I didn't feel any pressure. Dr. Jan has also been more than supportive even though I'm not an ideal candidate. Can't get the weight to come off, dang it all! No one in any of the offices has said I've done something wrong (based on what I tell them, of course, and I also believe in being completely honest -- I'm 17 months out -- have I had a piece of pie or candy? Yep. And I've told them that.).
