Anyone here have LapBand surgery at OHSU or somewhere close to Portland, OR?

Hi all, Fairly new here and have been reading posts about the different(mostly RNY), weight loss surgeries. I want to have the Lap Band surgery very badly. My company has an exclusion in the contract for any WLS and I called yesterday to ask if my doctor or doctors would write a detailed letter describing why I need to have the surgery and so on, that if that would make any difference in being approved. They told me(after being put on hold for several minutes), that my doc can call a pre-auth number and ask what would be needed to be sent to them regarding my case in wanting surgery and to overturn the exclusion. Sounds good, but I absolutely will not go to Emma Patterson because i started her program a couple years ago and dropped out because of two things...one of being to dang strict in so many things, and two, another serious health problem arose. I went to a biotch of a pychologist and she said that I would have to quit smoking for a year(WHAT?!). A little extreme there. Don't get me wrong though...most of all the pre-op appts. and so on are for the best in regards of this surgery being successful, but I want to go somewhere else...I don't like that hospital anyways...My dad died there a little over a year ago and I don't want to step into that place again. Anywho, I have been looking up bariatric doctors/surgeons around OR just in case I am approved for the surgery and was checking the team out at OHSU. Has anyone had this surgery with their doctors and how long is the process, etc.? Thanks to all and any replies. Peace, Judy
