Just wondering if anyone had advice on protein powders and things to drink or puree in the beginning. I am a picky eater and My surgery is next week. Lisa

The EAS Protein powders from Costco are pretty good - especially when mixed with skim milk. Good Luck next week! Jennifer

Lisa, ok I got the 100%Whey Gold Standard from gnc it was 23 bucks big container. I like it alot mix it with milk and it is like having a glass of chocolate milk works great for me. ok my favorate food to eat right now is split peas soup I cook it but it thru the blender and then thru the sive. I have a big tupperware container of it in the fridge and just pour a bout 1/2 cup in a coffee cup mircowave and sip it. I like flavor and its one of the best things I have found also I did the same thing with clam chowder adding a little extra milk so I can sip it. last night my husband came home from safeway with cheese brocili soup and it didnt do so much for me but I ate it. applesauce has been good and jello sugar free of corse. oh yea sugar free popcicles mmmmmm

Lisa, I use the Unjury unflavored protein powder. During the first 2 weeks after surgery, I mixed it with SF Pudding, soups, the super milk (skim milk mixed with powdered non fat milk, sounds gross, but isn't bad.), I tried it in sf jello but gross, so just ate sf jello on it's own. Hmmm... Pureed only thing I ate were soups like cream of chicken etc... There is a great section on Susan Maria's site on protein powders they sell online... they are all WLS patient tested/recommended for flavor etc... her site is bariatriceating.com Not sure how your surgeon does it, but I was 3 days clear liquids, 2 weeks full liquids, then soft foods and then slowly working into regular foods... you do get tired of eating the same things repeatedly during the first few weeks, so it's great you are planning ahead! Good luck, we'll be waiting to see how you do. Michele

Unjury chocolate is my favorite protein. The vanilla is good too, but I love chocolate and this is my chocolate fix. I have a protein drink each night with it. It does not have that awful smell and texture that other proteins have and it mixes really well. I thought the broth was good too. Julia
