Kelly Thanks for the tips. I haven't been in the hospital since I was 10 years old, and being old now and senile, I can't remember what it was like or what I mite need. Thanks again Randy

before I went to surgery I read on this site, to get a set of salad tongs... it the kind that is one piece. I used these for removing hot dogs out of the boiling water. This may sound weird but they work great to help wipe yourself after you go to the potty. You can wad up your toilet tissue and hold it with the tongs, it really does help and you don't have to ask anyone to come and assist you.

Yep..Hot dog tongs worked for me too!!! Figured I could throw them away...$4 bucks didn't hurt.

Thank you SO much for this info! I had wondered how the bathroom issue would work after surgery but didn't really know how to ask. After reading your post I ordered one of these: http://www.supersizeworld.com/25-600.htm Hopefully it'll do the trick.

When I went into the hospital 2 years ago for my hysterectomy, my main problem was wiping after going potty. THANK GOD FOR MY HUBBY!!!!! Once I was up & walking around, things got better, but help in that area was greatly appreciated! I think that was the worst thing about my surgery..... Jackie

Kelly, you are so creative! I never would have thought of a hairbrush. I know-I totally got shafted spending 50 bucks on that thing, but I just can't handle the thought of asking for help with that.
