3 years post op

HI Everyone.. I feel like a stranger to this site.. 3-4 years ago I couldn't get enough and now, to me, it seems like it was so long ago for the initial surgery. I had my WLS 3 years ago on Feb 16, had a tt and panni removal 11-2005 and upper reverse adominal-plasty (spelling?) and a breast lift Sept 13, 2006. I have lost 245 lbs total. I am FIGHTING for every pound now. I have a new job now , and no one knows what I have been though, so it was like starting fresh. I don't have people watching every thing I eat, or looking to see if I will gain or lose weight... Things that were an issue in the past... I never thought 3 years ago that I would be where I am.. Although I didn't have any problems with the surgery, I was so scared the surgery wouldn't work for me, that I would regain back every thing and then some; but I haven't, although I know I could all TOO quickly. I think that is why I am posting.. I am getting very un-inspired to lose the 25-30 more lbs to go.. (My surgeons goal was 200 lost, mine is 260 lost). I am looking for some words of wisdom to help.. I don't feel like eating the right foods, I don't want to go to the gym... I am not taking what I have gone through for granted, but I am just frustrated with myself.. Amway, thanks for reading and Good Luck to you all in your journeys, where ever they are leading. Sarah

Sarah, Congrats on your fantastic weight loss. You have done so well and gone too far to turn back now. Hang in there---get back to basics and go for it. I think that the OH sites help so much to keep us in contact and each of us have something to offer. Glad you are here. Julia

Hi Sarah, Welcome back!! I am only nearly a month post op and I am at that stage where I am trying so hard to do the right thing. Seems I am fighting for every pound already and I'm down only 18 lbs thus far. Am I discouraged? Heck NO, because I know all I have to do is keep working this tool of mine and the weight will come off. We have to continue to work for that no matter how post op we are. It is obvious you are wanting to lose the weight but may need a little encouragement to do so. We all need that. You have come to the right place for that. I don't know what I would do without all my OH.com frineds. I never want to lose sight of that and obviously you have not either. It's time to challenge yourself. Let those new co-workers of yours see that you made some effort to lose a few pounds, they never need to know of your past weight loss. It will feel marvelous and part of your new beginning there. Again, Welcome back!! It's a good thing that you came here...it's a great new beginning!! Darla Remember "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels" Also, you have done amazing......I hope I do as well as you.

Sarah, I agree with what everyone else has already said! Welcome back! Now to add.....I think you should also attend your local support group as well. Sometimes, helping others will inspire you to help yourself (always works for me!!) Keep in touch, you are an inspiration after such a big loss! Jackie

Sarah, Welcome back... and wow! You are an inspiration!!! Go girl. Thank you for sharing ... it's great to see someone further along the process. Hmm.... something inspiring to say to you (hehe)... You have done more so far than I have dreamt of doing... to me, that means that you not only have vision, but extreme perseverance. If anyone can get those last few pounds it is you! However, that said, it doesn't have to be today... maybe take a break from losing for a month or so and just focus on eating well, eating healthy and enjoying what you've accomplished to date. Maybe if you give yourself a breather (give yourself Permission for a breather) you will enjoy the success and be ready to make the goal you set. Cheering you on, Michele
