I just had to talk to BC/BS about some questions I had, so the lady pulled up my policy and she said that Regence BC/BS PEBB now covers the Lap Band. Did I miss something? I'm not considering the Lap Band, but it will do some more research on the Lap Band now. Has anyone else heard about this with PEBB? Bil

I had heard rumors of this Bil. It doesn't say that on their website, but someone had told me that it is now covered. Linda

I wish I had them as my Insurance provider!! Then I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket for the whole thing!!! Jackie

Feeling fine.......but tired of drinking the shakes & trying to be good! I'm trying to at least not gain any weight back, but I am loosing any hope of continued weight loss I took the anti-biotic & cream for the rash.......keeping fingers & toes crossed. Jackie

YES! It's true! Hmmmm - I think I'm still more interested in the RNY, but I'll have to do some reading. Darn! I guess options are a good thing. Linda

That is what I was thinking Linda. I still think the RNY is better for me, but having an option now is nice. Jackie, I know how you feel. As of a year ago my insurance did not cover any help with weight loss issues. Bil

Doing ok Bill, Thank You. Still have a cough & bringing up , but as long as doc can listen to my lungs & hear no problems, the surgery will be a go! So, everyone keep every part of your bodies crossed for me!! Jackie

We (my husband and I) were planning on the RNY because it was all insurance covered, and when the opportunity to go with the band instead came up we did a lot of research and have decided to go with the band instead. I am a bleary-eyed researcher at this point. (I am working on my PhD in social research and have access to all the medline journals and electronic databases, and am reading a lot.) We have both just finished all our ore-surgery appointments and are working on our 5% weight loss as required by the insurance co. We'll be banded at Legacy. Melanie

Hello, What is PEBB? I have seen that on the Regence website and never figured out what it was. I have an exclusion in my employers insurance policy, but reading your post and replies made me wonder if maybe there is possibly a chance of my getting approved for Lap band. I desperately want to have it done, but financially it is difficult without insurance back-up. Thanks and good luck to you, Judy
