Looking for a Dr
I am just beginning the information gathering part of this journey. I found a seminar in the Portland area on the Lapband.com site but it is always the same Dr giving the seminar Dr Hong. I am not opposed just want to make sure I am educated. Does anyone have good/bad experiences with their Dr that they could pass on?
Are you specifically looking for info on lap band only? The OHSU folks also do a good lecture and will discuss lap band surgery too. Also Dr. Ken Weker (excellent, excellent surgeon & pioneer in Duodenal switch procedure) does an excellent lecture in Eugene monthly & will also discuss all types of bariatric surgeries and is very good at explaining and well informed on all of them .
I love my Band Dr. he also does all the surgeries but I had the band and I have had several friends who have gone to him as well. He has an awesome self pay plan infact I was in yesterday and he is having a band special for $10,000. You can find him at baybariatrics.com his name is Dr.Tersingi and he is at the North Bend medical clinic in North Bend Oregon.
Good luck !
Gail

I had my surgery with Dr. Jay Jan, one of Dr. Hong's associates, in 2005 at Legacy Good Sam. I've met Dr. Hong and find him quite knowledgeable, too. I have no real complaints about the Legacy program.
