Can anyone tell me

How long it took from the time you met with the surgeon till the insurance gave the approval and the surgeon's office contacted you to schedule the surgery? I have PEbb insurance and the surgeon is Dr. Patterson. Met with her yesterday and loved her. I am getting very excited.... thanks, Diane

Hi, Diane! Is your surgeon Dr. Emma Patterson? She is my surgeon for both my Lap RNY (Jan. 3, 2007) and my Gall Bladder surgery (Jan. 31, 2007), and I have been very happy with her. She knows her stuff. My insurance is different than yours, but it took about 5 wks. for the approval after I met with her (only because I had to lose some weight before my ins. would approve the surgery). Good luck! I had BC/BS and it took almost two months back in 2005... It really varies by insurance company and how busy the clinic is. Lori

OHSU told me yesterday that PEBB has been less than 30 days, but it's insurance, so I wouldn't say that anything is set. Bil
