THEY CALLED!
Just got off the phone with OHSU. I have an appointment with the NP and Dietician on Tuesday, February 27th. I have to be careful not to lose any weight before hand, because I'm just on the border of a 40 BMI and my insurance won't pay if I'm below. Otherwise, I'm okay! Never in my life have I had anyone tell me not to lose any weight! Well, I'll have to go easy here - no sense dying of a heart attack before I get to surgery! I'm on my way!!

They will let me do follow-ups with my regular doctor, but not at Oregon Bariatrics. Well, at least I won't have to drive to Portland all the time. I think I may have to wait to have surgery until late April or May. I will be on the east coast from April 9-21 and I don't think I can squeeze in surgery and healing before I go. I hate waiting, but I guess I wouldn't like to travel really soon after surgery.

Actually, it's a combination of business and pleasure. In addition to working at the UO, I am a professional longarm quilter. I will be going to a longarm quilting conference in Manchester, NH for the first week, then I have a sister who lives on Cape Cod, so I will go and visit her for the second week before coming home. There are some amazing quilt shops on the Cape too. I take this trip every year.
