Just got off the phone with OHSU. I have an appointment with the NP and Dietician on Tuesday, February 27th. I have to be careful not to lose any weight before hand, because I'm just on the border of a 40 BMI and my insurance won't pay if I'm below. Otherwise, I'm okay! Never in my life have I had anyone tell me not to lose any weight!

Well, I'll have to go easy here - no sense dying of a heart attack before I get to surgery! I'm on my way!! Linda

Linda, yeah for you, I thought you would get your call today. Keep up the good work and hang in there remember MAINTAIN not lose, because your a winner! CJ

Great news, Linda. I am so happy for you. I am so bummed that you cannot have surgery here in town but will the surgeons follow you postop here? Is that an option with your insurance? So exciting!!

They will let me do follow-ups with my regular doctor, but not at Oregon Bariatrics.

Well, at least I won't have to drive to Portland all the time. I think I may have to wait to have surgery until late April or May. I will be on the east coast from April 9-21 and I don't think I can squeeze in surgery and healing before I go. I hate waiting, but I guess I wouldn't like to travel really soon after surgery. Linda

Well that's good, glad you can at least see your PCP here. Traveling back and forth to Portland would be for the birds!! That's too bad you may need to wait on surgery. Is this a business trip or vacation? I just love the coast .... Newport and Lincoln City are our favorites.

Actually, it's a combination of business and pleasure. In addition to working at the UO, I am a professional longarm quilter. I will be going to a longarm quilting conference in Manchester, NH for the first week, then I have a sister who lives on Cape Cod, so I will go and visit her for the second week before coming home. There are some amazing quilt shops on the Cape too. I take this trip every year. Linda
