Rings

Well my wedding ring was driving me nuts as it kept sliding all around my finger and seemed to stay with the pretty side down so I took it in today to get it resized and have gone from a tight 8 to a 5 1/2. I may have to have it done again when I get to goal, but I couldn't stand it any longer. I had to take it off at night or lose it in the bed. WOW I'd say!! Another thing I thought about today when I was going to the public bathroom where I went shopping was that I no longer need to use the large handicapped stalls cause I do o.k. in the regular puny ones!! WOO HOO JULIA!! One piece of advice I could have given is...I've gone up & down a lot before & instead of resizing my ring over and over, I purchased plastic "spacers" that fit over the band.....instead of the old "tape or band-aid. I can't wait til I get to goal & have it sized for the last time!!! Jackie

I wondered about using those to postpone the down size but went the other route. Should have talked to you first as I wasn't sure where to get them. Julia

Hi Jackie, Would you please tell me where I can purchase some of those plastic "spacers"? I have a couple rings I would like to plan ahead for. Oh goodness, to think of starting to wear more jewelry again. What fun! Thank you. Darla

Ok, I purchased my spacers at Wal-Mart in the jewelery department. It was a package of various sizes (big for double wedding rings, single for single bands & skinny for those thin bands. Real cheap & worth every penny! One downfall.........when you wash your hands, if you don't take your ring off first, soap builds up & gets icky. Jackie

Wow Julia! 5 1/2 is a SKINNY ring size! I have several rings that are size six from when I was thin that sit in my jewelry box. I had the presence of mind to take them off as I gained weight. I rings I'm wearing now will need to wait about 40 pounds before I have any hope of even getting them off! Good for you. It will be nice to have them fit and not have to worry about losing them. Linda when I got married, 34 years ago today, as a matter-of-fact, my wedding ring was a 4 3/4. Wow that was a long time ago. I do have a small frame---exactly why, at 321 pounds, it was very difficult to get around! My bones hated me! So very much better now!!! Julia

That's a huge difference! I can tell my rings getting loose already too. If you don't mind, can I ask how much it cost to downsize it? I have about 12 rings I will need to have sized when I'm done, and I think I'm going to have to save a bunch to do it.

Jo Ann, Maybe so. Of course you can always go out and buy yourself a pretty ring too. I personally like Sapphires--they are my birthstone. QVC has some nice and not too expensive rings of all types!! Julia
