February Meeting Info

Since there were so many posts on the other message, I decided to post the info in its own special post. LOL OK guys, I have the rec room reserved for Saturday, February 17th from 11 am to 4 pm. We can do a potluck type thing of healthy snacks. I am going to do various flavors of soy chips ... maybe we could all volunteer to bring some items such as water, cheese, deli meat, etc., some healthy protein items and maybe even some fresh fruit. Also, if it turns out to be a decent day outside and anyone is up for it, we also have a tennis court and basketball courts ... that could be quite interesting to say the least. lol So, we are at 317 30th Street - Brentwood Estates, in Springfield. When you enter the complex, follow the driveway down to the basketball/tennis courts. The rec room is in the main building that is right in front of you as you drive down the driveway and you can see it thru the window ... there is also a gym right there in the same building as well. If anyone wants my phone number for further info, just send me a private message and I will give it to you that way. I think this will be lots of fun and it makes it easier to mix and mingle than a restaurant does ... and a nice long time too.

Since these are a favorite of so many. Maybe, we could do a taste test. Bring some of your favorite protein creations and let us try them. What do you all think? I can bring lots of paper cups! Kim, i can also volunteer the napkins, plates. If that works for you, sign me up. Thank you Nancy

That is a wonderful idea, Nancy. If you can take care of the paper products too, that would be perfect!!

Hello Eugene/Springfield people! I just moved to this area and was looking for a support group. This meeting sounds like fun, I'd like to attend. I can bring my famous "Protein Ball" recipe with me. They are chocolate and peanut butter sticky balls, about 12 g protein each ball, a great snack Rebecca M., 10 months post-op 269/164/155?

Hi Rebecca, They sound yummy. Maybe you could bring some for us to try? We are doing a little potluck type thing of our favorite protein sources. We would love to have you at our group. This will be our second get together now. Where did you have surgery at? I see you are almost to goal, that is wonderful!! Congratulations!

I will bring Protein Balls to eat and recipe slips for those who want the recipe I just moved from Riverside, CA. I had my surgery there, through Kaiser. I'm 10 months out now, lost 106 pounds, and I feel great I'm close to my goal but am happy where I am even, so if I stopped here, I'd be thrilled with the results of this surgery. Now I just need to keep the weight off... Unfortunately things don't get me sick like they used to, so I'm able to eat bad things, like carbs... which is my weakness See you at group! Rebecca M.

Hi Joann, We'd be happy to have you join us ... always looking forward to new faces. Well, we have someone bringing protein balls, paper products and cups, and protein crisps. What we can use still is a meat tray, cheese tray, and for some to bring their favorite protein drinks to share. We will have some taste tests to see what is the best. Maybe we'll all leave with a new favorite. Kim
