Progress and journaling
Good morning,
First, my progress! I've been really pleased with how well things are moving along for me. I saw the NP with OHSU's surgical weight loss program on 1/2 and she gave me a list of about 5 things I need to do prior to them scheduling surgery. I've done everything except get the mental health evaluation and I still need to lose at least 1 more pound to reach the minimum required weight loss. Of course I don't anticipate being scheduled until March or later, but I still feel great that I'm getting it all together. Believe it or not, I've been so energized I've even started a total overhaul, deep clean of my house! Believe me when I tell you that I am far too lazy to engage in this kind of activity generally.
Second, do many of you journal? I've been feeling like I want to start a really detailed journal and I wonder what other people of done. Also, have you kept it primarily online or are you keeping a book?
I hope all are doing well and enjoying the freezing weather!
Tammy
That's great that you feel like you're making progress!
As far as journaling, no I don't do it. I, personally, don't see the point in it but, that being said, I had lap band and know that my changes won't happen so terribly quickly that I might miss a wow moment or special comment.
I've seen quite a few that do and others that just keep it to themselves. I just don't feel like I have much to share and if I were to go back and read through it, I'm not sure what purpose it would serve me...
Good luck on the rest of your journey,
Lori
Tammy,
I think journaling is an excellent idea. When I first started my online research on weight loss surgery I really valued finding detailed accounts of what others had experienced. I also think the day might come when you are feeling down and asking yourself why you chose this path and reading back over what you felt like and what you had to deal with at your top weight just might be what you need to perk up. This is a monumental life change and deserves to be documented whether to share with others or only for yourself.
I also think you will want to place progress pictures and measurements in your journal.
Take good care and keep us posted on your progress.
