Hi everyone! I'm just so excited! I'm overweight! Hee, hee! I had my RNY surgery just about 8 months ago with Dr. Hong. I started out at 307.25 pounds and I'm now down to 182.25 pounds ... a total loss of 125 pounds! My BMI is now in the "overweight" range! I never thought I'd be so happy to be overweight in my life! Woo hoo! I've been lucky not to have any complications along the way. Although I'm recently finding that I can eat more quantity and I can eat things that I shouldn't be eating and they don't make me dump. I'm very afraid of returning to my old grazing habits and eating to fill an emotional void. I'm trying to be very mindful of what I'm putting in my mouth but that old desire to just stick something in my mouth is definately coming back! I'm so glad to see the Oregon board is alive and full of lots of posts! It's nice to come here and read all about everyones' progress and know that I can fit in here and relate to most of what is said. Thank you all for keeping me sane from day to day ... it's nice to know that we're all on similar journeys! Deanna

Yipeeeeeee!!!! I think I've told you that I just knew all along you would succeed. It's a pleasure to see you reaching your goals. I also think I told you my envy that you are still so dang young!! I'll take it anyways at my age...I feel like I got twenty years back, but you are lucky to still have your young self to climb up that rock wall if you want. My knees would never let me do that one. I posted my Christmas card with pictures with my family this past year about a week ago. I was looking at the one I made last year. I was probably about where you are reaching now (pretty close to where I figured I would end up, not expecting to lose much more). I didn't actually lose that much more during the past year, but I look so much thinner in this years pictures. Once the losing was "over" I still found a pound here, a pound there, and I also know that leading a more active life also must contribute to a continued slimming effect. So save some money for that smaller dress you will be buying next X-mas. Patty

Patty, you are so sweet! I have to tell you that when I first started coming to OH, I always looked at your picture and profile and wished I could be as successful as you! I guess I related to you so well because we both started close to the same weight, had the same surgeon, are mothers, etc. And you are not that much older than me ... you still have plenty of life to live! I'm thankful as all get-out that I did this now! I'm so angry at the life I wasted but I'm grateful for my future. I'm excited to see where my life takes me now! Dr. Hong's office gave me a goal weight of 175, based on my lean muscle mass. Apparently I have a lot more muscle than fat! Who knew! I'd love to get lower than 175 but we'll see how it goes. Right now I'm concentrating on that goal ... only 7.25 pounds to go! Thank you for being so sweet ... I find you to be very inspiring! You are gorgeous! Deanna

What a wonderful feeling! I know a lot of folks think I'm pretty light weight already at 250 lbs, but with much diet and exercise, I've never been below 200 in my adult years, so I've not been overweight, just obese and now morbidly so. Congratulations to you on this wonderful achievement. Wishing you a new year full of health and happiness. Linda

Hi Deanna, A great BIG overweight congratulations to you!! I'm Pre-Surgery myself but love to hear all the success stories I can muster up. Keep up the great work and the thoughts in your head that you don't want to return to the old habits that get us all in to trouble with regard to weight. You look beautiful. Isn't it nice to take care of you that way? I'm sure all of your loved ones appreciate it too. You Go Girl!!! Darla Putnam
