having some problems
2 nights ago I was running a fever and had nausia and stomach pains. Called my doctor and they had me come first thing in the morning. He ran a new CT scan and found that for some reason my pouch is not releasing fluids as fast as it should. The pain and nausia I am having is from being over full to long. From the time I had to drink the dye at the CT lab from the time I went back to my doctors office and waited an hour for the resolts the doctor said that he can tell that I still had fluids in my pouch. He said that the CT scan looks good just to slow down on my fluid not to drink to fast. I need to stop drinking 15 to 30 minutes before I do my protein shakes and to wait on hour after the protein shake to start drinking fluids watch for dehydration because it is going to be a good chance that I do. He was thinking about putting back into the hospital for a few days to make sure a I am hydrated good but I refused because my kids come home to see me today for christmas vacation. If it come down to dehydration I have a hospital 1 mile away from me and dont need to travel 50 to get to where my doctor is. Because I refused hospitalation he told me no more protein shakes for 24 hours. wants me to drink as much as I can but to be careful not over fill like I did 2 nights ago. He said this is common and will go away in about 6 to 8 wks. If it doesnt they will have to re operate. This all totally sucks.

Katrina: I am so sorry to read you are having such a rough time. My surgery was Wednesday and everything went very well. I guess I am having the most trouble getting in my liquids. I found out right away it is easy to drink your fluids to fast. Today I have much more energy so hope this will improve each day.
