Today is only my 6th day after surgery but only the 2nd day on liquids by my self with out IVs. I am so worried that I am not getting enough. I know I am not getting all 8 glass. (64 oz) I am charting my liquids and yesterday I did 44 oz and today I did 42 oz. It seems to be to hard to do any more of that. I even today started to drink fast. I found hard that isnt a good idea. Any ideas or opions out there.

Katrina, Have you tried Isopure protien drinks. They have 40 gm of protien and no carbs and can count as your fluids. I also like sugar free popcicles and sugar free jello. I carried a water bottle every where I went. It gets easier every day. You will get there. I' very excited for you. Robin

My first few days home I filled a pitcher to 64 oz so I would know that was my goal to fini**** by days end. I seem to remember getting MOST of it in. It sounds like you are doing a good job of working towards that. It took me a few days to be able to get in my water and protein amount, and each day it was easier to get to that number. It was nice a little further out, because I was able to start "chugging" and could knock off a 6 oz. bottle pretty quick, but in those first few days it was harder. In other words, it will get easier, but for now you just have to try really hard to do it one sip at a time. Patty

I used a small water bottle and a small medicine cup. I set a timer and poured the liquid in every 20 minutes. It worked. Don't try to do to much to fast. It gets better. You'll be amazed at the weight falling off! I'm glad you're feeling better. Betsy 237/ 150/ 141/ ?/ Pre Surg/ dr goal/now/ final goal!
