I am HOME! I actually came home yesterday but am just now feeling like posting. Everything went wonderful and I feel pretty good today. Still a bit sore but I guess thats to be expected. I have to say thank you for all of the kind words and thoughts from everyone! I feel so much support and hopefulness from everyone on here and never thought I would find that among strangers. I will post again soon but just thought I would say hi to everyone, say thanks for all the kind words and say thanks to Kim G for visiting. Support means so much! Tara (officially on the losers bench wooohooo!)

Hey Tara, Glad you made it home okay. I must say you looked fabulous in the hospital. How are you feeling? Getting in the water I hope. Just remember to sip, sip, sip. Let me know if you need anything. Take care. See you in January at the support group (if not before).

Kim, I am doing good I think. I feel pretty good and I feel great when I take the pain meds but I have only taken it twice today and still doing pretty good. We went to Target today to get some things and just get out and get some excercise, that felt good! The water is SOOOOO HARD for me! I just dont see how to do it yet but I am trying. I sip sip and sip some more and it seems so slow. There is no way I am close to getting 64 ounces in but I am trying! I hope it gets better as the days go by... I havent had any nausea, have you? Thanks for asking Tara

Trust me, getting the water in will get easier as the days go on. I was lucky though, I think my stoma is a bit larger than normal because I am able to swallow more than sips at a time. That has helped me emmensely to get my water in, though most days I still don't quite make it. I do try though. I have not had any nausea either. I also have had no dumping and no difficulties eating anything. I did experience a sensation this afternoon that I don't want to experience again. I was obviously eating too fast as I had the sensation of a ball of food stuck trying to get thru my stoma. It was right at the top of my stomach/sternum area. Was not pleasant but did pass fairly quickly. Best of luck to you. Talk to you soon.
