I am wanting something warm for breakfast. Can I have cream of wheat or oatmeal? I am at he puree stage--2 1/2 weeks post op. Any other warm food ideas for morning would be great. Thanks, Odetta

My Dr. does allow cream of wheat, I think it would be ok, but if your not sure and it didnt come in your post care instructions you might want to ask. Good luck ! Gail

I too would like something warm "anytime" in this cold weather. My nut told me that I could have "watery" oats for breakfast. I am 12 days from my surgery and doctor told me that I had to be on the liquid protein and water for four weeks. So I cannot even begin to think about the puree stage. Chrisy

Odetta, I will be 2 weeks out on Wednesday and the call for something warm was overwhelming. I made my cream of wheat with low fat milk in the micro and then added a little more milk so it was slightly runny. I had no problem with it and it probably have it again tomorrow. I was officially to start pureed on Wednesday but I jumped the gun. Also tried a little KFC mashed potatoes & gravy cup and thought it was heavenly and again no problem. I am drinking a Carnation Instant Breakfast every morning, adding extra protein and posstassium to it and it goes down well too. One I go past the pain thing the food has been easier for me to get in and keep in. I only know what is working for me but best to call your nut for the go ahead. Kathy PS: The hand held tomatoe soup by Campbells is tasty and nice and warm, also goes down well.
