Hello - I have been watching this site for a while but this is my first post. I am scheduled for my gastric bypass next TUesday 11/7 @ OHSU. I have everything in place with my super milk and smoothies ect, I just need to find a good protein powder. Can anyone assist me. I heard there was a good one @ GNC but I need a name. Thanks Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, Good Luck with your surgery next week. I just bought a bag of the Pro-Rated Alpine Vanilla at Costco that I really like. I mix it with milk, a spoonful of instant coffee, some sugar free DaVinci Caramel Syrup and ice then blend away. It tastes like a Starbucks Caramel Frappucino. I didn't care for the Chocolate flavored one, it was just too sweet. I also use the Unjury Strawberry Sorbet and Unflavored in Crystal Light. They are a bit more expensive but are very palatable. You can order samples at Unjury.com. I have them auto-ship me my order on the 1st every month and you get a price break. Hope this helps. Jill

Jill - Thanks for the information!! I am very excited, nervous and scared about the whole thing, but I think that this is the best thing for me. Thanks for all the advice and I will go to COSTCO this weekend and get what I need to start the process!! Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, I only have some Unjury at the moment. But I did order a small sampling of Profect. I wanted something already mixed and easy for right after surgery. I hope they get here before 11/13. I know someone who likes the stuff from Costco too. I haven't tried it, though.

Jennifer, I like the Vanilla one at Costco as well, and I blend it with half a bananna now as I am at the purred stage now, but in the beginning I used to add some orange juice. I have the chocolate as well but it is kinda malty flavored to me so I like the vanilla better as I can add what every flavor I want. A friend told me she liked the GNC once but the Costco one I hear is cheaper. It is a powder in a large bag and costs $24.99. Congrats and good luck Carrie

It is called Wellements and I have tried the Vanilla - love it! It also comes in Bavarian Chocolate. It's only $24.95 for a 6lbs bag.
