I got the call yesterday and have my initial appointment with Dr. Hong on November 1st. I am so excited! I still have to lose about 10lbs, however, and I don't know if I can make it by the time I see the surgeon. Does anyone have any ideas that I can try???? I really want to have this surgery by the end of the year for insurance purposes.

Congratulations Leslie!!! That is so exciting! Dr. Hong was my surgeon and I really like him ... you are in good hands! As far as losing your 10 pounds ... I lost my last 10 pounds really, really quickly. I went to Walmart and picked up some Slim Fast low carb/high protein drinks and I drank them for 2 meals a day. I also ate some fruit as a snack and then had a very light dinner. That weight came off fast! I hope you get that last 10 pounds off by then! Deanna

Hi Leslie, Dr. Hong is my surgeon too. He is sooo sweet! He did my scope test--down the throat. I told him I was afraid that I would feel the scope. I don't know for sure but I thiknk he gave me a little extra drug--I felt nothing and was out of it for awhile after. I just got the call yesterday, and my surgery date is Nov. 2nd. It was posted at my insur. for the 3rd. When I told Kammy that she talked to Dr. Hong and he said he would perform the surgery on the 2nd at 6:00pm! Can you believe that! He did not want me to have to wait until Mon. I have had to do the 6 month diet per my insurance--so I have been waiting for this for 7 months! I can't wait! I am sure you will enjoy him too! Odetta

Leslie, As you know, every body is different. I would suggest you go to GNC and pick up some Isopure (no carb) protein drinks and suppliment at least one meal a day with it - it has 40 grams of protein per 20 oz bottle and you will not suffer any nutritional losses using this product - it also got me through the first four weeks after surgery (protein shakes get tiresome and dont have as many grams as Isopure). Increasing your protein intake will really help you shed the pounds (jus****ch the carbs while you are at it). take care and good luck!
