Wondering if anyone else has had no hunger?

I am now 5 weeks out from surgery and still have no hunger. I do not even really want to eat but know that I have to. Has anyone else been through this or have any suggestions for me? I am at the point where I do not like the idea of meals times because I just know I have to force myself to eat something. Thanks

Hi Beka, I am almost 15 months post-op and still feel no real hunger. I have heard that it will eventually return, but I am grateful that it hasn't. I felt the same way about eating when I was where you are, but I got used to it. I would suggest that you fix things that look and taste appetizing. There are some good recipes on this site and at others on the internet. Hang in there. It will get better. Joy

I know if seems weird not to feel hungry, but appreciate it will it lasts. Joy is very lucky to be so far out and still not feel hunger. I am 6 months and do get hungry and have since about 4 months post op. What has changed is the amount of food that I need to get full.

Ahhhh, those lovely honeymoon days. Yes, Beka, that is very normal. Hunger returns down the line anywhere from 4-12 months, but avg is about the 6 mo mark. Then unfortunately it becomes a bit more difficult to lose because we are more tempted. Enjoy, enjoy. I wish I could go back to that phase!! Trisha

I am not really hungry. If I am? It is sort of a "right now" feeling. I have been doing Lean Cuisine meals. Something that is quick and small portioned. A little cottage cheese. Or a slice of cheese and a saltine. I just do not seem to want to focus on any kind of food whatsoever either. Blah. That's a good thing huh? Exactly what we wanted!
