Local Inquiry

Hello: I am considering WLS very strongly and am in the Corvallis, Oregon area. I would love to hear about the program and surgeon at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center here in Corvallis. I mean, I have been checking out the program and have learned a lot about it, but I would like to hear some personal success stories and experiences within this program. Is anyone out there to give me some feedback? Anything is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I had RNY surgery w/ Dr. Read in Corvallis in 7/04. I've done very well. My surgery went smoothly. I live on the coast and my only problem is trying to get to the monthly support group meetings. I should add that my surgery & progress have been so successful that my husband is now looking into surgery for himself -- so we are starting the process all over again for him. I find Dr. Read & Susan to be wonderful. The only drawback is that his dietician isn't all that great. I have heard others in the program there say the same thing -- so I don't think it's just me. Good luck in your decision making process re WLS. Personally, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Cindy P.

Hi Tina, I had my surgery on 4/25/06 and can't say enough good things about Dr Read and Susan and Kim the whole office staff, they are wonderful. The hospital was very accomadating and the staff were very good. The program has a new dietition and haven't met her/him yet so I can't say good or bad, but I did ok with the previous one.
