Switching Insurance?

Has anyone here switched insurance and had their new insurance cover surgery? I have Providence Open Option, and know they have a blanket exclusion for weight loss surgery. Are there insurance plans in Oregon that are easier to get approved for surgery? I've looked at the "Insurers" list but it isn't clear which is the best plan. I am hoping for Duodenal Switch surgery. Thank you!

Talk to the insurance coordinator in your surgeon's office. (S)he should know who has gotten approved and might be able to give you some insight. Lori
