How was your 4th?!?

I must report about what a nice 4th we had this year. We spent a week a a beachfront house in Long Beach - just across the river from Astoria. It was perfect weather, fires on the beach every night (smores of course, but that's one I have no trouble passing on...YUCK!! I think not only surgery but age change your taste buds for some of those treats). The dogs were welcome and suddenly their life was more fabulous than it already was! Door always open, a big porch to sun on, with a narrow path through high grass that opened onto the beach. I had to share pictures because one of them is another one of those "WOW" moments that we all have as pre-ops. It just came along - an opportunity to ride horses on the beach. Several months post-op my girls went riding, and I was so happy to only be about twenty pounds above the maximum weight allowed (instead of way more than 100). Well look at me on that horse now!!! It was fun. For some reason, when you click on the picture links it gives you an error message. It's really easy to get it to work right though, if you just highlight the picture link, and copy and paste it into the WWW addresse bar.

Wow, Patty!!!!! Thanks for sharing the terrific pictures of you and your family with us. You look so happy atop that horse. It truly is a WOW moment! I would love to go horseback riding some day. It's been many years since I dared to force my weight on a poor horse. By the way, it's good to have you back online. I have missed hearing from you. Let's all get together soon. Joy

Hey, Patty Even the horse looks like it is having a ball! What fun! This summer is travelling way too fast for me. We were in the Seattle area for the 4th for a family gathering. Lots of little kids now. Things are changing. The old people are really old and the young people (us) are getting there. The kids had bubbles and the pool and the paddle boat (my BIL lives on a lake) Everyone had a good time. Greg and I went to a Casino and won money. Always a plus but it was also a great night out with our daughter in law. Our son had to fly to San Diego to start a new project there. An hour into the project and they tell him he is going to Germany. YIKES! They are selling their cute rowhouse on the river and looks like I'll be managing that for them. They need to move on.I don't think they are asking enough but they just want to get on with things. I am designing a kitchen, wine cellar and a carport addition this summer for clients. Finally have the plans done for the carport. Greg is working on the ventilation system for a greenhouse. Some greenhouse! It's bigger and lovelier than my house! We are heading to Missoula for a class Greg is taking at the University there so I'll have some down time then. Yes, let's get together. Anyone up between 1 and 7 am? Just kidding. I'll be wherever you guys decide whenever you decide to get there. Except this Saturday....kitchen cabinet day. xoxoxo to all, tee

Great Pictures patti--you all looked like you were having so much fun. I use to love riding horses, but with the weight gain I haven't wanted to hurt them. For sure one thing that I will be doing when I loose my weight. I spent the 4th just down the road from you. We stayed at a friends house in Ocean Park. I bet we passed each other walking down town Long beach. I just love looking in all the shops. Of course my kids love the arcade--Gods knows I've spent enough money in there. We also love doing the go carts and bumper cars. Long beach is a fun place to take the kids.
