Good morning :)
We went away last week to a family cottage and visited my parents and grandparents. Definitely not a vacation, but nice to have a change of scenery and to see everyone. My brother moved down from there to my city, so it will be both nice and weird having him so close :) he used to live with us, but this feels very different.
Nothing much planned for today. I think the thunderstorm woke the little nugget up through the night so we are going to nap today ;) she was so good on our trip. Charming everyone.
Post-op four years and six months.
Accountability: not good at the cottage. There were so many snacks and treats sitting on the counter every day. My least favourite part of going these days. I felt so gross by the time we left. I don't think I felt real hunger all week because we were constantly eating or snacking.
Breakfast - milk
Snack - PB and banana
Lunch - leftover chili
Snack - chicken and cheese
Dinner - leftover burgers
Snack - oat bar
All water and vits.
Hi Waxwing for me I was 300 pounds when I started opti and they put me on it for four weeks. I think it goes by your weight rather than liver size.
For example, if you are 300 pounds they put you on for 3 - 4 weeks, 400 pounds, 4 weeks, 500 pounds, 5 weeks. A friend had the surgery too and she was just under 600 pounds and she was on opti for 6 weeks. Hope this helps.
Good morning all!
The plan tonight is that my friend meet me after work and we do a Costco run. I need a few of my regular stock up items plus this week they have the Combat Protein powder on sale and the Pure Protein bars too. I always grab a rotisserie chicken just for slicing and eating for the next couple of days too.... yum.
B - greek yogurt
S - egg bites
L - chicken skewers, salad
S - shrimp & seafood sauce
D - protein shake and maybe a sample or 2 at costco
S - turkey pepperettes

Don't beat yourself up about it but going forward its important that you 100% follow the diet. Looks like you have 5 days before surgery so make these days count and follow the plan. Good luck to you.

Dr. Matic at the London Plastic surgery does OHIP covered plastic surgery through the hospital. Hopefully your doctor can get you referred.
Anyone have success in getting the panni covered in London Ontario area?
My family doctor says OHIP does not cover but I know this is not correct as I have seen many people get this covered. But because she says she doesn;t know who would then, I need to give her a name to refer me to.
Thanks for your help!
Anyone know?
I'm currently awaiting my consent appointment in Hamilton (was told I should hear from them within the next few weeks) but I'm bored and anxious for more knowledge. Curious how large your liver was and how long you had to go on optifast for it.
Does your calcium supplement have added magnesium?
Hi Meggles07
I take 600 mgs of calcium twice a day with 3,000 IU of Vitamin D also twice a day. I also take two pre-natal multivitamins (for the extra iron). I also get a B12 shot weekly and occasionally I get iron injections but right now my iron is acceptable.
I will try posting this in the RNY board too, good idea.
Thanks,
Dreamy74
yea it just would suck if it would affect my surgery that is next monday then all this effort down the drain because of my poor decision
