Topic: RE: What are you eating/doing today -- Thursday?

Good morning all,

I also weighed myself this morning and the scale is not moving. I have had no weight loss since the gym closed mid-March so it's frustrating. I like your idea of small manageable goals so will set the same and work on 5 lbs for now. Over the past few weeks, weight training was out of the question due to shoulder issues, but now that the weather is nice I think longer walks daily will help plus I can use my indoor cycle if there is rain.

QOTD: Well I had done very well on losing up until the past couple of months and I have "maintain" down to a science so the key for me will be to get back to the losing phase. My menu has been consistent but I'm going to pull out my old food logs from the first solid food phase and try using those...... more fish ;) (Megs favorite lol) We can do it girl!!

B - greek yogurt, blueberries

S - boiled egg

L - tossed salad with grilled chicken

S - tamari almonds

D - baked chicken, asparagus

S - turkey pepperette

Good morning :)

I weighed myself this morning and I'm not happy with where I'm at so I need to put more effort into turning things around. I believe in setting small, manageable goals. So my first goal is to lose five pounds. We have been spending a lot of time outside, so my activity level has been up a bit, but it could also be better.

QOTD: how are you doing with achieving your weight goal, maintaining, or working on regain? My regain is primarily from pregnancy, and I gave myself too much slack. I know I can turn things around!! :)

Post-op five years and two months.

Breakfast - protein pops

Snack - carrots and PB

Lunch - ham and cheese, apple

Snack - Greek yogurt, little banana, little granola

Dinner - TBD, but I'm thinking chicken and veg

Snack - protein pops if I make more, SF pudding if I don't

All water and vits.

Good morning ;)

Awww sorry to hear you aren't feeling the best today. Maybe since LN2 didn't sleep so well through the night she will have a nice long nap today and so can MOMMY! Crossing my fingers for you.

QOTD: Honestly I have never been a nap person. If I'm sick or for some reason have a poor night, I will occasionally just lay down when I get home from work for an hour or so. It really throws me off when I do that though,,,, I wake up and feel like I missed my alarm or something then realize its 6:30 p.m. ... very disorienting!

B - protein shake

S - greek yogurt & blueberries

L - turkey, tossed salad

S - dry roasted almonds

D - egg white omelette wrap with bacon, mushrooms and cheese

S - shouldn't need one - maybe chocolate hummus and strawberries

Did much better on my water since it was 32 degrees yesterday! 3.5L

Good morning :)

Not feeling 100% myself this morning. LN2 was up three times through the night which is very unusual for her. We will have a quiet day.

QOTD: do you nap? I love taking naps. I always get tired around 2pm so I love having a refresh nap.

Post-op three years and two months.

Breakfast - protein fudge pops

Snack - protein bar

Rest of the day is up in the air but we have leftover BBQ ribs from last night.

All water and vits.

I'm not an outdoorsy person so I try to make sure I get the little nuggets out a lot to see the bugs and plants :) it's not my favourite thing but I think it's important for them.

Again I'm behind the times but my menu was pretty standard and thankfully I stuck to it.

QOTD: I think my favorite toys were likely lego and lite-brite although I did do a fair amount of playing outside since I lived in the country. We didn't really use toys outside but would steal my moms tupperware and go down in the ditch to our hideout where you could find anything from "pet" tadpoles to a stash of worms for catching fish. The good old days where you just needed nature and imagination to have fun!

Good morning :)

Nothing specific planned for today. We are getting our weekly grocery pickup this morning so it will be nice to restock our fresh foods. LN2 is starting to hold her head up so I got the exersaucer toy out of storage. LN1 thinks it must be for her -- all the toys are hers ;) Our little living room is drowning in toys so I will probably put some away for a bit. I had saved a bunch of toys from the little nuggets first birthday and I've been giving them to her randomly since then. It has been good for spreading out her interest. I have a slide for her for outside -- I'm just waiting for our tree to fill in a bit so we can have some shade :)

QOTD: favourite childhood toy? I loved Barbie's and I also had teenage mutant ninja turtle action figures. I always wanted a Mr. Potato Head so I got one for the little nugget and we play with it together lol.

Post-op five years and two months.

Breakfast - protein fudge pops

Snack - carrots and PB

Lunch - ham and cheese with a few crackers

Snack - Greek yogurt and banana

Dinner - BBQ ribs I think

All water and vits.

I'm a day late for posting my menu but I'll answer the QOTD.

I don't think I really have plant nostalgia but I definitely miss heading out to the garden late summer for some fresh sweet corn. I just buy it at local roadside stands and support the farmers now because I don't have the time or space to plant rows of sweet corn. This past weekend I did plant all of my large container planters (8 in total I think) with reds and purples so they look really nice and if we get the rain that we are supposed to this week, I won't even have to water.

Yes, I love traditional chickpea hummus, but I wasn't sure if this had a different base :) I love the garlic ones. I would love to make it but it never turns out as well as store bought.

I forgot it was Monday!! DH doesn't work Sunday-Monday so it causes me weekend confusion lol.

We have been working hard to get the gardens going. The onions are sad. I might try planting seeds between the seedlings to see if something will grow. I have runner beans sprouting and ready to plant somewhere. This was a nostalgic purchase for me... My mom had them when I was younger and I remember spending way too much time collecting the beans and drying them - they are really pretty, black and purple.

QOTD: do you have any gardening or plant nostalgia? My parents owned a garden centre for a few years when I was growing up and I remember running around and checking on the plants, watering, weeding, etc. I enjoy having some of my own plants now, but it has been a slow-growing hobby for the most part.

Post-op five years and two months.

Breakfast - protein granola bar

Snack - protein fudge pops - these are so nice when it's hot

Lunch - chicken and veg

Snack - protein granola bar

Dinner - chicken, veg, salad

Snack - protein fudge pops, banana PB toddler cookie

Way too much processed stuff today. We are getting a grocery pickup tomorrow so we will have more fresh stuff.

All water and vits. Reminder to wash your water bottles lol. I use a shaker cup and it really needs to be scrubbed more often :)
