Topic: RE: What are you doing/eating Thursday?

I was up and out early yesterday for LN2s doctor's appointment :) missed posting.

QOTD: I don't know if I have a favourite garden flower but this year I'm growing scarlet rubber beans which in told have s pretty red flower. We had them when I was a kid but I only remember having fun harvesting the beans. I saw a package of seeds at the garden centre so I bought them on impulse ;)

Good morning all

WOW what a storm last night...there were branche****ting walls and windows left and right but thankfully we didn't have any major damage. I was watching out the windows that face west and decided I better head for the middle part of the house when debris came crashing into the back side of the house. This weekends cardio will be yard clean up.

QOTD: What is your favorite garden flower? I enjoy hydrangeas because they give such a big pop of colour with the huge blooms. I have some carpet roses that should do well this year,,, they were only planted a year ago so are still establishing themselves.

B - protein shake

S - none (I used unsweetened almond milk in my shake and I'm still stuffed)

L - turkey kielbasa, cheese, raw veggies

S - boiled egg

D - haddock, garden salad

S - greek yogurt with granola

Topic: RE: What are you eating/doing today -- Monday?

Yesterday was a write-off ,,,, CRAZY Monday!

QOTD: Swing would be my preference too for the exact same reasons. I always felt a bit worried the chains would give out on the swing too though, so the mental part of being overweight as a kid is very restricting. My favorite playground equipment were the 2 spinning ones,,,,,,,, one you sat in and used a wheel in the middle to make it spin (the teacup) and the other took a few people to get in motion and then we'd all jump on. Probably those are banned from playgrounds now!

Good afternoon :)

We were a bit off schedule this morning so I'm just getting to post now. LN1 got a swing for her birthday so we are going to have to design and build a frame for it. So this will be one of our next projects so she can get using it right away :)

QOTD: swing or slide? I personally prefer going on a swing. I think I have leftover nightmares from being a bigger kid and getting stuck on the slide or the whole, hot slide, bare skin burn. The summer after my surgery we walked to the park a few times to go on the swings ;)

Post-op five years and three months

Breakfast - protein granola bar

Snack - cocoa almonds

Lunch - chicken soup

Snack - carrots and PB

Dinner - TBD... Maybe something with beans

Snack - sf pudding

All water and vits.

Happy Friday!

It was a crazy day yesterday and today at work so I wasn't able to log on til now. Last night I made homemade spring rolls which everyone always seem to rave about...(they are super yummy)

QOTD: Hmmm I don't really shop Amazon for any food products but Costco is my favorite food store for sure. My go-to's for snacks from Costco would be the Pure Protein bars, Noah Martin's turkey pepperettes (in the snack aisle), greek yogurt, frozen tail off shrimp, Olymel sliced turkey, Laughing Cow Cheese or Babybel Cheese, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus (for dipping veggies) or Dark Chocolate Hummus (for dipping fruit or pretzels) If you like soup, the Sprague Lentil soup is really good and decent protein.

B - Protein shake

S - greek yogurt

L - homemade spring rolls

S - boiled egg

D - chinese take-out - my bro is stopping by and said he'd bring dinner YAY

S - likely won't need one

Good morning :)

Friday already? I missed posting yesterday as LN1 had a doctor's appointment.

Nothing planned for today. Apparently we are going to build cages to cover some of our plants to keep out the birds and squirrels. Something already dug up one of my strawberry plants that I just bought.

Goal: not good. The last two days were a combo of stress eating, quick snacking on the run, and just being off plan. Back on today.

QOTD: online shopping (especially Amazon and Costco) -- what bariatric friendly things do you buy online? On the one hand I am happy eating some things daily (PB and carrots) but chasing two little nuggets means I need things I can grab quickly and I need some more variety.

Post-op five years and three months.

Breakfast - protein popsicles (I'm going to take a break from these for a few days I think)

Snack - protein granola bar

Lunch - ham, cheese, cucumber

Snack - Greek yogurt and banana

Dinner - leftover steak and asparagus

Snack - sf pudding

All water and vits.

Topic: RE: What are you eating/doing today -- Wednesday?

Good morning ;)

We only got a small shower and a bit of thunder this morning although they had predicted a crazy storm. Your hubby has a point when he said that your knee can tell you when a storm is coming. I broke my shoulder a few years ago and it always seems to bother me before wet or muggy weather.

QOTD: I enjoy thunderstorms unless they are ones that cause huge damage. It's nea****ching a storm at night and seeing everything briefly come to light. I even like the sound of pouring rain,,, it's soothing as long as I don't have to go out in it!!

B - protein shake

S - greek yogurt, raspberries

L - chicken, lettuce, cheese wrap with hot sauce

S - turkey pepperettes

D - taco in a bowl

S - 1/2 protein bar if hungry

Good morning :)

What a storm this morning!! Everyone was awake around 5:30 so I ended up having a pj party with the little nuggets. Thankfully they eventually both went back to sleep, so we had a late start this morning.

I told DH that my knee was acting up yesterday (an old injury) and he said it's because we were going to get a storm. I laughed and told him I must be getting really old if my bones can tell when it's going to rain ;)

Goal #1: not too bad yesterday. I still need to get more water. Especially with it being warmer. My current challenges are not snacking on LN1s leftovers and taking little bites from the cupboard that are not on my planned menu.

QOTD: do you like thunderstorms? I do not. I did when I was a kid and one day my friend and I were sitting inside the front door of my grandparents house watching the storm when lightning hit the house across from us. I've been a mess ever since.

Post-op five years and two months

Breakfast - handful of trail mix during feeding, protein popsicles

Snack - protein granola bar

Lunch - deli meat, cheese, pickles

Snack - carrots and PB

Dinner - something beef hopefully on the BBQ

Snack - pudding or protein popsicles

All water and vits.

Good afternoon,

I too am late posting today but thankfully still have my glasses ;) I wonder if you called your optometrist if they would let you just drop your glasses off for the repair.... it's pretty important that people be able to see! Last night I helped my daughter move from an upstairs apartment in one town,,,,, to an upstairs apartment in another town so I think this should count towards a 3 hour stair master workout My body did not feel like getting out of bed and going to work, but of course I did.

QOTD: Yes I still stress eat but I think I'm more conscious of it now. Before surgery stress eating would be something fried or sugary but now I don't keep that food around so at least it's healthier stress eating when I have a weak moment.

YAY for 2 lbs Meg!! (I'm down 1 but maybe the scale will look better in a couple days with burning all those calories up and down stairs. )

B - protein shake

S - clementine

L - salad with grilled chicken

S - pretzels with chocolate hummus

D - perch, green beans with sliced almonds

S - boiled egg or a yogurt possibly
