Day 3, post RNY, and I'm home and feeling pretty good. Other than the fact that my tummy feels like it's either been kicked by a horse or I've done 500 crunches! Lol
Before I got released yesterday, the dietician told me to concentrate on getting my fluids in for now. I think I did pretty good yesterday with over a litre. I was able to eat a bit of cream soup, sf pudding and a bit of protein shake, pretty much what they had me eating on Wednesday.
Any other tips for right now, other than recuperating and getting my fluids in?
Thank in advance for any suggestions you may have.
Well Good EARLY Morning everyone! I had to catch a ride this morning and my driver starts early so here I am also! It is going to be a looooong day!! It's creepy being at work at this hour! I'm looking forward to the weekend even if they're forecasting an incredible amount of snow. Hopefully I can get the doggies out to play!
No real food plan today so I'll have to wing it. I have "leftovers" from the week.....snacks and bits of lunches that I didn't eat. It will all come together and if there isn't enough I can always go out and grab something.
I hope you all have a great day and cozy warm weekend!!
Take care.
Thank you for the response.

I'm 58 in April so we aren't that far apart. I lost weight before surgery. I actually dropped 40 lbs just by cutting out pop and eating protein first and everything else after. I also cut my sugar intake down considerably before surgery so I did have a head start.
You're doing great!

With all the ups and downs this is best decision I've ever made. Like I said, I have no regrets. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. :)

I'm 5'2" tall. Underneath all that fat was a little person crying to get out. When my sister saw me at Christmas she was shocked at how little I am. Her comment was...."I never would have imagined your frame to be so small". Well neither did I! LOL But it is. I wear size 8 pants and small to extra small tops. My bra size went from a 46D to a 32A. Yikes!
And yes, I do have saggy skin but not as bad as I thought it would be. It could have been much worse. I don't have muffin top and my abdomen isn't too bad however I will be having plastic surgery sometime next year. I'm probably going to do a tummy tuck and abdominoplasty. I'm not going to touch my upper legs, I'm just going to have to live with it. No boob job either although I could use it. I am what I am at this point. If I can afford to do arms in the future I'll consider it but they're not too bad either.
I'm still kinda losing although I'm not trying. I dropped another pound the other day. I actually don't want to lose anymore. I think I look good the way I am.
It's been a ride that's for sure. I'm so glad I did it.

I hope I get that lucky! I'm on a 18 month maternity leave until November, so hopefully I can have my surgery before I go back to work and I don't have to to take time off right away after I return!

Thank you so much for posting this! As someone just starting the whole process, I often save moments where I wonder if what I'm gettimg myself into is overkill, or that maybe it won't work for me and I'm scared at what life is going to look like when I finally get to the place I've been dreaming of my whole life - but this post makes me super excited! I know it will be hard, but worth it!

Thanks Vickie- I'm going to try testing my alignment, and also look into Magnesium. But I think its best I make an appointment with Chiropractor to verify whats going on - always good to have a full check on how my body is adjusting. Will also check in with Bariatric support team (and Doctor).
