So you have to keep moving as difficult as that may be. That's what's going to release the gas. You can try a heating pad on your abdomen to help ease things along. Walk walk walk. Try some warm drinks - tea.

My advice is always the same, walk, sip, toot, repeat. Drink to get some energy back, and walk to help with the gas. It is gas trapped in your abdomen from the laparoscopic procedure. It will get better. For me it took about 4 days to be completely gone. I'm so glad you sprung for a cab. Rest when you can. You have just had major surgery. You have your butt now firmly planted on the loser's bench. Life will be different, but life will be better. Hugs.

The best advice I was given was to lay on my left side. It really seemed to help.
Good luck to you, I hope the pain passes soon.

You need to be getting 60 grams of protein in daily. Premier Protein Shakes are the way to go. If all you do is get in 2 shakes and all your water you are good at this stage. You get them at Costco. Opti is not the way to go at this point.

Did you go to a pre surgery nutrition class? We were given a "bible"? The "Bible" told us everything we could eat, should be eating at every stage. Follow your bible.

You can have pureed soups, milk, yogurt with no bits in it. Get some skyr. You should be drinking caffeine free teas, water. Make sure you are getting all your fluids and protein in. It is crucial to healing and hydration. Are you getting all your meds in as well including your vitamins? That's imperative too.

My guess is that you are dehydrated and thus the headache. You need to get that under control very quickly or you could end up back in hospital.

For the next several weeks your job is making sure you get in what you need to get in and if you can't call the Clinic and ask for help.
