This Optifast diet is for the birds.

How did you handle 3 weeks on this? Can you give me some tips because my stomach is constantly grumbling.

Opti sucks! I only had to do it for 2 weeks but did find after the first week I wasn't hungry anymore. Hang in there, it will get better! Your surgery date will be here before you know it, good luck!

Hi Joannab:

How are you doing on your Optifast? Everyone says it gets easier, well not for me! Stomach constantly grumbling and difficult to ignore. I try to fill the stomach with water or broth and it works for...10-15 minutes and then it starts again. I have to admit not the easiest thing I've ever had to do but I'm trying to look at the big picture. Starting the countdown to surgery and I'm excited and freaking out at the same time.

I hope you are doing well?

Good morning

I am surprisingly doing really well on the Opti, I sip on mine all day long and it keeps me full. If i have a tinge of hunger I make sure I take a drink of the Opti. I tried the broth once and it didn't really satisfy me so I haven't had any since and I haven't had anything else and not having any problems. I mix my vanilla and chocolate together so its not as sweet and because I don't like the vanilla by itself very much.

I think if I finished the Opti quick I would be more hungry though.

I am so excited for surgery, less than a week for me and yours is the day before mine. You don't have much time to go, you can do it. Yes, remember the outcome and the reason we are all doing this .

Message me if you want to chat more. Look forward to hearing your updates and keeping in touch.

Just restating above I had to do it for 3 weeks too, and after the first few days the hunger did go away, just make sure you drink lots too and add in the allowed items like broth, SF Jello etc. Spacing of shakes makes a difference too, I was doing one first thing, then trying to space no more than 4 hours apart. You can do this!
