Hamilton wait times

Hi Debs - I'm going through Hamilton as well.my orientation was Oct. 30th and I've done all of my appointments except the dietitian which will be May 9. Then surgeon after that. I had all of my tests requested by my family doctor (except endoscope) ad that seemed to move things along fairly quickly. My timeline is below in my signature. Good luck to you!

I had surgery in Hamilton Sept. 12 2017. My wait time from orientation was from July 4 2016. That's 14 months from orientation to surgery. They told us at the orientation to expect 1 1/2 years from orientation to surgery. Mine was a little earlier only because the surgeon to told me I did not have to do Optifast because my bmi was lower than 40 (I had co-morbidities) and my liver was not fatty. I was able to go to surgery at any time because I was not working at the time and I therefore was on the cancellation list. I was in surgery a few days after my "meet the surgeon" visit.

From what I am reading on this forum though, it appears that since my surgery people in Hamilton are not waiting as long I had to.

Thanks Barb! My BMI is less than 40 as well, and I know my liver is good. My blood sugars, not so much. Fingers crossed no opti for me too! Lol. Although the pro is that it gets you mentally prepared before surgery instead of everything all at once I suppose appreciate the feedback! Continued success to you!
