7 Month Update

Hi all,

Today is my 7 month surgiversary. It's almost hard to believe it's already been 7 months! At the same time, I can barely imagine a time when I lived any other way... for those of you just starting out or still waiting, hang in there, it's all worth it, and once you get to surgery, things really go quickly.

I was just chatting with someone online *****cently had surgery about how it feels in the beginning, and I remember feeling like it was going so slowly - 10 lbs, 20 lbs; it barely made a dent in what I needed to lose. Then clothes started to be too big, and I needed to wear smaller sizes. I started feeling great. And quickly, 10 lbs tuned into 40, and 60. And now, I've gone from a size 24/26, to wearing size 14. And I've lost 98 lbs!!

I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to have this surgery. I haven't had any complications, but I haven't been without any problems these 7 months. I have found that despite feeling SO MUCH BETTER, my immune system was very weak for a few months, and I got sick easily. I had shingles, and a few other things. At one point, I was feeling like "omg, another thing" and was even depressed about it. I am single, and decided to "put myself out there" and even met an amazing guy. Unfortunately, his life was very complicated with a divorce and custody battle, and we didn't make it - and now I find myself having to find renewed energy to try again. Somehow it's a bit harder the second time!!

I haven't exercised much yet, but I find daily activity so much easier. Things as simple as getting out of the shower, putting on my boots, walking for long periods, getting out of bed - really, everything! I just got a treadmill and some hand weights and am excited to start using them. I eat very balanced for the most part - protein forward, with veggies and fruit daily. I do have occasional treats, and recognize if I didn't, I may have lost more, but I am thrilled with where I am with my loss and happy with the choices I've made. It suits my lifestyle and my mindset, and helps me stay on track. I do not do well with an all or nothing mindset. I'm a firm believer in doing this journey in the way it works best for you, and that if you don't know yourself, take time to get to know yourself, or seek assistance to discover that about yourself. That's the best way to make this work!! :)

Thanks Pauline!! Unfortunately I've lost a fair bit of it, but the good news it's now light enough that the natural curl comes out! Pros and cons to everything I guess. :)

Fantastic transformation in just 7 months, absolutely amazing! This is definitely an inner and outer journey and it seems like you are conquering both. The pictures are great and show such a difference. Wishing you continued success!
