Lost more than weight

The journey is indeed yours and you will survive this - and everything else life throws our way - the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm sorry for this, but happy that you are motoring through and controlling what you can. I often say the Serenity Prayer because accepting what is not within our control, controlling what we can and indeed having the wisdom to know the difference is key to living a relatively happy and balanced life. It's not easy, nor is this journey.

Like your other friends on this site, I'm sending you a virtual hug. Keep posting - it helps you, and me, and the rest of us!

Linda

Oh Wayne, I'm so sorry that this happened. You're strong, you've already proven that and you will be alright.

Congrats on your loss so far Wayne, that is amazing.

I love the insight you have in your post. Really that is such a huge part of figuring life out post WLS.

Sucks your six month stall was self induced but what is excellent is you know what you were doing wrong and are prepared to change it and get back to the "rules (High Protein, Low Carb & tons of liquids).

I am really sorry to hear about your separation, that sure can't be easy. Time to put Wayne first and do what you love and focus on a physically, mentally and emotional healthy life going forward.

I think you are on the right track and I love your "I will survive," and "I will not give up" attitude.

Bravo Wayne, keep up the great work, you can do this and you are 100% worth it!

6 month stall was a combo of self induced and my Family continuing to bring junk food into the house and leaving it around. Even if they hid it...I could only ignore it for a day or two before seeking it out and consuming it. Temptation was simply to great for me to resist after mentally fighting the urges for so long.

I will have full control of that now. :-)

Hi Wayne,

It sounds like you have been on a roller coaster lately - this journey is certainly no easy task.

Good for you for getting back on track with food and your weight loss. Emotional times can trigger people in many different ways. Putting your health first is a great choice.

I'm sorry to learn about your separation. It sounds like you are handling it very well.

Keep being you, keep doing all those amazing things that honour you and being your best self - emotionally and physically.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for the update! Life can knock you down when you least expect it. I lost my husband of 39 years in 2015 and was in a rabbit hole for a year. For the first time since 2004 I stressed ate and put weight back on. That being said I climbed out of that rabbit hole and slowly started living life for "me", "myself", and "I". It's not bad and having fun.

One of the things I did that really helped was I joined a site called https://www.meetup.com/ You just put in things you like to do, love to do or have always wanted to do and meet up with others and have fun. I have joined a kayak, hiking and biking group. We have great fun and I have made some new friends along the way.

I will PM you a list that helped me get back on track with all the basics! As you said you will be OK! Take it one day at a time and get to know Wayne again
