Steristrips
My discharge paperwork says to leave the steristrips over my stitches and they will curl up and fall off on their own. However it's been a week and a half with no sign of movement at all...they are still firmly attached. Is there a timeline with which I should remove them? Or just keep waiting. I did call the surgeons office yesterday but they haven't returned my call.

Let me know how your post-op appointment goes...I don't have one for a full month so I'm kind of curious about it.

My paperwork said the same thing: you can take them off after a week. :)

I took mine off after 7 days but some had already fallen off, make sure you take off the top one first. I just wish the glue and marker marks would wear off, typically when it's just the ones from the heart monitor I use nail polish remove but figure that's not a good idea around incisions.

Im pretty sure rubbing alcohol takes it off but I haven't tried. So if you have some you could try that, even the little square wipes work, I have used those before. Just make sure to not get it on the actual incision. Doterra lemon oil for sure works if you have some of that.

I think of the five incisions I had two strips fell off on their own but the other three were on there good. I let it go a full 7 days and then had a shower and peeled them off, all was good. At four years out you can't even see my scars anymore, they have totally faded.
