ZZZzzzZzz?
I'm sorry to learn you're having so many problems sleeping. I don't have sleep apnea or a cpac, but my sleep definitely changed. I found, for at least a while, I was sleeping less hours... I was tired, drained... it was hard to fall asleep and I would wake up early. I started taking a gravol at night sometimes to help me sleep through
Now, I can usually fall asleep more easily, but I haven't slept in in months. It used to be no problem for me to sleep until whenever... now, I'm awake early every day.
If you think your cpac needs a pressure change, can you have that checked?
As a side note, I was away recently with my sister and nephew and we shared a hotel room. I asked her if I snored. No! Apparently i don't snore anymore!!!

Congratulations! I dream of a snore free life hahaha!
As for cpap, you can get the pressure checked but it requires an overnight stay in a sleep lab (after waiting for an appointment!) It's all a bit excessive for minor adjustments - especially if you've had sleep apnea for a long time and can tell the difference in your quality of sleep.
I've been the absolute opposite. I can't keep my eyes open after 9:00 pm and find myself trundling off to bed earlier than ever. I'm so exhausted by then that I sleep right through the night and prior to surgery I was a terrible sleeper - awake on and off all night.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I am 4 yrs/3mos post RNY and my sleep totally changed post surgery. I used to be able to sleep like the dead, but ever since I had surgery I can't sleep.
I never had a CPAP pre surgery so I can't speak to that but I am lucky if I get 5 hours of sleep now. And for the record a lot of my friends here on OH who are 4 yrs post op or even longer are in the same boat. For some reason a lot of people seem to have a harder time with sleeping post surgery and I unfortunately have no idea why, sorry!
I so wish I could get more sleep but I am just not tired until about 11pm or midnight and during the week for work I get up every day at 4:45am! I try to go to sleep at 10pm but most nights I toss and turn and don't fall asleep until later. Very weird and I wish I knew the science behind it. Hope you are the lucky one and get more sleep! I have started to use Melatonin and for the nights when I really can't get to sleep I have used over the counter sleeping pills, I buy them from Costco, called Unisom, they work great and no "sleep hangover" the next day.
Best of luck!

I've never been a great sleeper...always up during the night, although have no problem falling asleep when I first go to bed.
When I first got diagnosed with sleep apnea, the doctor told me that I was always so tired during the day because I really was never getting "deep" sleep. That made sense to me.
Someone I had met during one of my meetings with the Burlington group told me that she had the best sleeps right after surgery, so of course I was really looking forward to that. That didn't happen to me though...at all.
Right after surgery for about the first 2 months, I was rarely sleeping. Gradually I have been getting better sleep as the months have gone on. I am more comfortable in bed and able to sleep on my side now without a problem. I usually don't wake up during the night now either. I am hoping that this continues to get better especially now that I now longer need the cpap machine.
Everyone is different.
