Congrats on being on Opti, and yup, it's totally normal.
Early out, I remember wondering if Opti had the word "Fast" in it because it meant we'd have to run to the washroom, fast, lol. I know it really means fasting, but the other way fits too, lol.
For me, the laxative effects went away by day 3 and then I had the opposite problem.
I'm so excited for you, and for everyone who has an upcoming surgery. It really is life changing, in a good way. Enjoy the ride.

I think you are experiencing a bit of "cleansing" with the body issues. I don't think it has anything to do with optifast. If you were eating less food and giving your digestive tract a break you would probably get headaches and some intestinal cleaning out. Your body is getting rid of toxins...it's a good thing.

Hey all...about to start my optifast journey on Monday. Anything I should add to opti alto try to prevent the optitrots...Metamucil can apparently help relieve mild diarrhea. But...don't know If it's better to take a wait and see approach or do it preventatively...
