So yes i am still having trouble with protein.

lots of trouble and wanted to know what everyone was eating to get 60-80g. i am a bit desperate and will try anything.

I am better with milk now and can tolerate a glass.

I know i should be adding protein powder to things, but what are you eating for meals and snacks what are your favorites?

please help a woman out. i am dying with this not meeting goal thing. i am worried i will stop losing at only 3 months out i am terribly worried.

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday!

I am 2 months out.

I have a scrambled egg with a 1/4 cup of shredded cheese for breakfast, 4 PC Angus meatballs for lunch and normally have something chicken (4oz raw normally works to around 3oz cooked when I weigh both times) with 30-40g of feta for dinner. I will have a decaf latte some days or some whisps at night while my husband eats candy. Since being on all the foods following something along these lines is good for getting in all my protein required and I normally closer to 80g every day.

The cheese is melted so it doesn't end up much larger than a serving of an egg.

I get the meatballs at the superstore but any Loblaws banner store (no frills, superstore, fortinos, zhers, Loblaws) will carry them.

Sorry you're still having trouble getting food in. What do you enjoy eating? Or what are you finding goes down easiest for you right now?

i eat everything... honestly... I mix up my food daily, so I'm not the best source of "try this". But have you tried different foods?

Fish (fresh, like cooked salmon, or sole) is a great source of protein. Or canned tuna is great too!

I made stews in my slow cooker. It all depends what kind of meat you like. But I put beef cubes with broth, lentils, carrots, frozen spinach and onions, add some spices, and let it cook. You can make any version of stew you like!

Soups are great too. I make turkey quinoa edamame soup that's delicious.

Ive also cooked up some ground beef and chopped onions, added refried beans and frozen spinach, taco seasoning, and voila... tons of protein, low fat, super easy to eat. I freeze small portions of it too for on the go.

Hopefully those are a good couple of starter ideas? I am quite creative in the kitchen. I do read a lot of recipes... follow some, make a lot up as I go too.

Good luck, keep posting! Keep going. You're doing great, and you will NOT stop your weight loss btw from not having enough protein.

Thanks OAAT.

i suppose i am worried too because i dont have a scale so i cant see the difference. but i don't FEEL much lighter. lol I know silly, but i will feel better at the 3 month check in (even though it is closer to 3.5 months) but i can be on the official scale then. who knows maybe it will be a huge improvement. lol.

thanks for the support. i have been trying so hard to follow the Nurse and NUT's recommendations. they want me to do protein but carbs and fruit and veg too. but they keep saying my pouch is behind and i should take it slow. i am desperate to move ahead and eat the protein they want me to.

luckily i am able to keep down milk now so i can go back to premier next week (hopefully) that will help with the protein.

you are awesome.

thank you

Ok... a few things. I can see the difference in my weight when I look at pictures, but not when I look in the mirror. I don't feel a difference in my body either. It's not some miracle like "oh I feel skinny". Lol. But I feel it when I walk up stairs, or bend down to do up my boots, or wear heels. Without a scale, I would also have no clue if i lost or gained. I get it.

Here's the thing: keep doing what YOU think is right. You know your body. What your pouch is accepting and rejecting. Don't pu**** Let it heal. The more it heals now, the better you will be in the long run.

Whether you should eat fruit and veg and other carbs... I don't know. There are folks on the boards who swear by avoiding them, and their results prove how successful that method is. I eat them. I could not eat meat alone. I have a bit of fruit, and decent veg every day. I eat fats... healthy fats, not donuts. Lol. I don't eats white carbs. Grains of any sort really. I'll have the occasional crackers or rice crisp or quinoa... I don't ever drink calories or have alcohol or pop. I'm not perfect and I don't even track. Lol. But I choose protein first and my methods work for me. What I don't do is stress about it.

Figure out what works for you. If what you're doing is working, keep doing it. If it's not, change it. But try changing one thing, not 15... or else you won't know what change had a positive effect. And don't stress! First and foremost though... take care of your pouch; it needs to heal. :)

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Choose happy.
