Thank you, oneatatime, I sincerely appreciate this info and help. I will contact her.

Does pre-op just mean the Opti? Is there bloodwork too?

The pre-op is different from the Opti. Your surgeon will decide how many weeks of Opti you need, and you will start the Opti in accordance with the schedule they give you at the time you are given your surgery date.

Pre-op (or pre-admission) is a series of meetings and tests you will do in one visit to TWH before surgery. You will meet with the administrator to request your room type, the pharmacist to review your medicines, a tech to take blood and do an ECG, a nurse who will review your ECG and give you info about the days leading up to surgery, and the anesthesiologist who will give you amazing info about the surgery and recovery. :)

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Choose happy.

Awesome. My fingers are crossed for you that you'll hear from Sharon soon. I know this sounds silly, but set yourself a "surgery by" date... believe it will happen, and then let it go. :)

I hope they call you soon. This backlog at TWH has really sucked. I hope they get it worked out soon, it's been going on since August.

Out of curiosity though, how long after your last appointment was it before you saw the surgeon?

Fingers crossed for you

Wow!! That's a long wait.

It seems odd to me that they are still having weekly orientations when they are so backed up.

Can anyone comment on this? I mean why not get those of us that have been waiting for so long to moved through the system before clogging it up with hopefuls who are sure to be disappointed in the wait. They are still telling people a year from orientation to surgery and if things hold the same as they are I won't even see the surgeon until May or later and my orientation was on June 7th.

It's definitely a test for our patience!! It's times like this that I feel like I'll never get there.

I admit, I cried when I got my surgeon date. My dietician said the wait was 5 months from the surgeon appointment and waiting 3 months to wait 5 more months was hard.

But it all does eventually go by.

I hope you'll get the call soon. Hang in; the waiting pre op seems to take forever but once you get that call, jus****ch how quickly time will fly by.
