Hi all,

Thanksgiving is around the corner and I am on a soft food diet. I was wondering if you had any recipe ideas to share?

I have two thoughts, but would love more/better ideas!

I am thinking:

  • ground turkey cooked with traditional holiday spices
  • cauliflower mash with Parmesan and chives

Thanks for all your ideas!

Can you get tender white and soften it with a broth? The mashed cauli is great .. maybe add broccoli with a tsp of grassfed butter .. and or squash..

And add a bit of gravy. You won't eat much, but you will enjoy it.

Linda... I want to see if I can make a bone broth gravy... a few carbs but added protein... so I love experimentation ;)

My mind immediately went to dessert (as it usually does). I've already looked up recipes for a bariatric-friendly creme brulée. I know sweet isn't your thing though. a nice creamy butternut squash soup would be nice - can add nutmeg and other spices to make it taste more thanksgivingy (

I'll take the recipe for your creme brulee if you wouldn't mind sharing! Not for this occasion, but for when I entertain, it's good to have on hand :)

Soup is always a good option - I am still so "souped-out" from all my liquids. HAHA. My brain is still saying no more liquids pls - it's too soon!! *g*

Yeah, I was thinking that you'd be sick of soup by now. I just did some pinterest searches for "bariatric creme brulée" or "low carb creme brulée". There were a few. This one seemed promising (but might sub the erythritol for Splenda and hope for the best). Haven't tried it yet.

Haha I'm not even done liquids and I feel that!!! I'm planning on taking a tiny bit of turkey and veg and making it into purée with, like Linda said, a little gravy and a bite of mashed potatoes. Will be my first puréed meal!! I'm excited. Lol
