Six month appointment Windsor

I'm having my six month appointment next week in Windsor. At my three month, the dietitian didn't give me any homework for the next appointment. I didn't really think about it til later on, on the drive home. I was expecting her to give me homework to food journal for two days.

I meant to call them, and have long forgotten and now as my appointment approaches next week, I wanted to ask anyone whose had their six month post op appointment with the dietitian did you have to food journal?

I've thought about just writting down two days worth just in case.

Thanks.

I'm also through Windsor and yes they should have gave u a log to do for 2 days! U can also just log it and bring it so they have an idea of what u r eating, the amount per meal, the amount of protein u r also getting per meal, fluid tracking and exercise! I log everyday what I eat but I only brought the in 2 days of logging! Hope this helps! Best of luck with 6 month check up!

Thanks! I figured it was an oversight, but you never know.

The appointment is a couple weeks before my actual six months post op, but I think I've done pretty good. Just hoping my labs are good.

Have my social work class in mid September. Is it a big class? What do they talk about it, if you don't mind responding.

Thanks again.

For my social appointment I was in a group setting g of about 8 people! It's about 2 hours! U watch and go through a slide show! U address any issues u r having or concerns! It helps because u get a wide variety of other people's feelings as what of what they r go through as well! U realize that almost everyone is going through a lot of the stuff u r feeling or going through. It's a good session.

I had to do food journal for two days worth for my 3 month, but was never asked yesterday when I was at my appointment. Strange lol

Thanks for the reply.

Hey there. I have been thinking of you. I just brought 2 days of food journals and any meds I was on including vitamins. I was in the same social work class as Angela. It was okay. Just a slide show reminding us of our procedure, some behaviours after, things to look out for. Mine was about 3 weeks early of my 6 month but it was fine. Safe travels. Can you believe how long ago surgery was already? Seems like yesterday we were meeting up at the surgery class.

referral: early June 2016; surgery Feb 21, 2017

It does seem like yesterday we were at the surgical class. Time has flown, although I admit the first month after surgery seem to drag on forever lol

Ya, my appointment yesterday was a couple weeks early in regards to me being six months out. My social work class is on the 12th, closer to the 15th when I will be six months out. Plan to do an update when I'm actually six months out.

My brother got his final approval from Dr. Shaban yesterday too. So happy day all around, except that he can't go to Guelph because they are no longer accepting Windsor patients until next year. So, he's a bit disappointed about that, cause Guelph just easier drive, less traffic, and my experience was so positive there.

Speaking of safe travels, when we were just about half an hour outside Windsor, it starting raining pretty heavily. By the time we go to the hospital there were huge puddles, heard staff inside the hospital saying some tunnels were flooded. Saw some pictures later on that day, where some very deep flash flooding happened around Windsor. Thankful we didn't run into that!

Unfortunately on our way home probably half an hour before we would have hit London, traffic came to a stop just after the last service station. Fatal accident on the 401. We were stuck for hours. Wasn't fun, but at least we are alive.

Hope things are well with you!
